2025 Volvo EX30: An Electric Subcompact!

Present in several segments, Volvo is innovating and becoming even more involved in the electrification of its vehicles. Introducing the all-new Volvo EX30 Canada SUV, which will be here in 2024. Let’s find out what makes it so appealing.

Volvo Electric Vehicles

Volvo manufacturer has already made it clear that it intends to make its fleet all-electric by 2030. It looks like the message is getting through, as we’ll be treated in 2024 to the all-electric new Volvo EX30 for the 2025 edition, and the Volvo EX90 shortly after.

But what also seems to drive the Chinese conglomerate Geely Automotive Group, owner of Volvo now, is to develop vehicles with impressive performance. The Volvo EX30 is 100% electric, compact and ultra high-performant.

Volvo EX30 Range and Performance

Two words that resonate with consumers who want to go green sooner rather than later. The Volvo EX30 will be available in Canada with two engine options.

You can choose your vehicle with a single electric motor. This will be rear-wheel drive (two-wheel drive), producing 268 hp and 253 lb-ft of torque. It will take you from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds. With this version, the Volvo EX30 will have a range of 443 kilometers between recharges.

In the second version of the luxury subcompact SUV, you get two electric motors, each producing 211 hp for a total of 422 combined hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. With this version, you’ll do 0-100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds. As this version of the Volvo EX30 electric will be all-wheel drive, its range will be 427 km.

As Stéphanie Wallcraft points out in Driving, about the 69-kWh battery:

“The recharging capacity of up to 153 kW will be able to replenish energy from 10% to 80% in less than 30 minutes (26.30 minutes precisely), when the SUV is plugged into a sufficiently powerful Level 3 terminal.”

In short, this little SUV is already a high-performer on paper, and its range is above the average for electric vehicles on the market.

EX30 SUV: Small in Size

Because of its small size, the Volvo EX30 specs indicate that the vehicle will be agile wherever it goes.

It’s likely to be the smallest SUV in its class. On the other hand, because it’s built on a platform dedicated to electric vehicles, its wheelbase is long, which will come in handy in urban environments.

Volvo: Trendy Colors

On the Volvo EX30 release date it will be offered in five body colors: Mist Grey, Onyx Black, Floral Yellow, Crystal White and Cloud Blue. But that’s not all! Volvo has also designed four interiors inspired by the EX30’s DNA. Choose from Breeze, Mist, Scandinavian Pine or Indigo.

These assorted upholstery colors and decors are made from renewable and recycled materials.

An Intuitive, Technological SUV

On board, a 12.3-inch tablet takes center stage of the dashboard, providing all the information you need in a user-friendly way. This touchscreen has been designed to offer high-definition images to keep glare to a minimum.

With integrated Google applications and services, you can download your favorite applications from Google Play, which you can then use with the Google Assistant.

Moreover, with Google Maps, you’ll be able to get the best route and make your travels easier. You’ll also find the range, estimated battery level at your destination and charging stations available on your route.

In addition to these applications, the new Volvo EX30 comes with a wireless phone charger, a 12-volt power socket in the trunk and 4 USB-C ports in the passenger compartment.

Last but not least, the 2025 EX30 is more technologically advanced than ever, giving you all the peace of mind you need on the road.

The Volvo EX30 price has not yet been announced, but in the U.S. the starting price for the base version is $34,950 USD.
