Volvo is not only a Swedish manufacturer of premium vehicles, it is also a visionary, eco-friendly company. While other car manufacturers want to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, Volvo goes farther and strives towards climate neutrality and intensifies its efforts towards electrification.
Volvo Laval, the Volvo Rive-Nord dealer near Saint-Eustache, Blainville, Saint-Jérôme and just a few minutes from Montreal, fully shares this philosophy and is offering 100% electric Volvo vehicles as of now.
Volvo's climate neutrality initiative aims to drastically reduce current greenhouse gas emissions to a level that balances the emissions produced through the ability to absorb them.
For Volvo, this means the idea of recharging everything. From cars to factories, through to its supply chain and suppliers. Its objective is to reduce its carbon footprint by 40% per car by 2025 and then achieve climate neutrality by 2040.
When Volvo President Hakan Samuelsson launched "Volvo Recharged", he was announcing a brand-new, advanced range of 100% electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, offering new sustainable driving options. This ambition has been greeted with great enthusiasm within the company, to the point that every new Volvo will now be electric.
More concretely, this means that for each Volvo model, there will be a 100% electric version. This is the first time in history that a car manufacturer has gone this far with electrification. This aggressive approach is likely to appeal to individuals who want to improve the fate of the planet. If Volvo fulfills this vision, by 2025, every second Volvo sold will be electric.
With this announcement, Volvo is setting the tone and becoming a pioneer in the heavy trend towards electric-powered motor vehicles. And to get the ball rolling, the first 100% electric Volvo SUV, the Volvo XC40 Recharge, will soon be made available. This is the first electric SUV designed to preserve the planet. With an autonomy of more than 320 km, an 80% charge in 40 minutes and 400 horsepower (0 to 100km/h in less than 5 seconds), the XC40 Recharge will offer you an extraordinary experience without producing carbon emissions.
In short, the XC40 Recharge SUV is a user-friendly, safe, comfortable and powerful SUV. With its large storage space, long battery life, Volvo's active and passive safety system and advanced features, it is suitable for comfortable long-distance driving. With such a powerful electric motor, it is sure to take you far, far away.
The new Volvos are just around the corner, but the Swedish manufacturer isn’t stopping there. They wish to make their company a "recharged" organization from the ground up. This means taking climate-neutral actions throughout its value chain, including all its suppliers, by working with sustainable materials and components. All the actors in this chain will be involved to ensure the success of this mission.
Volvo Laval shares the Swedish philosophy and has been on the market for a long time thanks to its great team, outstanding service and top-of-the-range products. Need to see it for yourself? Come and discover our inventory of vehicles, plug-in hybrid and all-electric models at Volvo Laval near Montreal and Saint-Jérôme. We are waiting for you!
